It doesn’t matter how busy Rebekah Butler is, she always makes herself available for a phone call, text or email from a client.
Butler, a broker associate with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, easily connects with clients, anticipates their needs and quickly adapts as those needs change throughout a transaction.
She works with buyers and sellers, mostly assisting first-time buyers in Chicago’s North Shore, near north and west suburbs.
“I bought my first home on the North Shore in 2014 and renovated it myself room by room over about 5 years,” she says, noting her daughter grew up there. “It was important for me to create a place for us to make happy memories – one of my main motivating factors when helping other families move into their first home.”
Butler spent her early career in title insurance, real estate development and legal firms before transiting to working with business startups in the sports and entertainment industry. After more than 15 years managing growth and new business startups, she spent time in private finance working on the portfolios of high performing executives at several Fortune 500 companies, as well as emerging leaders.
“I built a reputation as a business leader managing teams, financial systems, and strategies – many days wearing different hats from finance to HR, marketing, legal, sales, etc.,” she says. “I thrived on the fast-paced environment, problem-solving, negotiating and art of the deal.”
Yet, she still didn’t feel fulfilled professionally or creatively. When she realized she could merge those skills with her love of real estate, she changed careers. Thankfully, it was the right move. “I have never felt so fulfilled with my career choice,” she says. “It allows me to blend the business side that I love and the creative side that I need perfectly, all while giving families new spaces to make their happy memories. It’s exactly where I belong.”
