Driven by a customer-focused approach to lending, Melissa Guerra, Corey Singleton and Carin Buchanan of loanDepot exemplify the very best of the industry.
Though she began her career as a Realtor, Guerra became interested in lending when she saw how delayed — or worse, denied — financing impacted her clients. Now a senior loan consultant, Guerra has 21 years of experience in the mortgage industry, prioritizing transparency as the ultimate goal of helping buyers achieve homeownership. “We exhaust all resources before we come back to a client with a no. Even then, we provide a plan on how we can turn the no into a yes,” she says. She’s been in loanDepot’s Chairman’s Elite Club for four years in a row and on the Chairman’s Advisory Council for three.
Singleton joined the lending industry after a career in sales, driven by a desire to learn about financing and further his own real estate goals. Now the senior loan consultant has 15 years of experience and specializes in working with first-time homebuyers, investors and renovators, approaching every loan as if he himself were the buyer. “I never advise a client to do anything I wouldn’t personally do. I have my clients’ best interests in mind, not my bottom line,” he says. Singleton’s efforts have earned him membership in the Chairman’s Elite Club for three consecutive years and on the Chairman’s Advisory Council for one.
With a background in finance and property management, Buchanan took the leap into lending 27 years ago. She works on a variety of products and always prioritizes the client experience. “Buying a home is a family commitment, and our team works to make that process as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible,” she says. Buchanan is compassionate and communicative throughout, finding out as much as possible about a client’s situation, goals, timeline and comfort level with payments in order to put together the perfect financing plan. She’s been in loanDepot’s Chairman’s Elite Club for four years in a row.
