He is an active participant in his community, belonging to the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, Bucktown Community Organization, Lakeview Chamber of Commerce, and Old Town Merchants & Residents Association. He currently sits on the golf board of the Midtown Educational Foundation and is an accredited member of The Veterans Advocacy & Benefits Association.

Cortese supports the Jackson Chance Foundation’s annual Ping Pong Ball, and as a Purdue University graduate, he sponsors multiple alumni association events at the Indiana educational institution throughout the year.
