Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago donated $35,000 to three local nonprofits at the end of 2025 through its philanthropic arm, The Kindness Foundation.
BHHS Chicago contributed $20,000 to Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity; $10,000 to the Sunshine Kids, which supports children undergoing cancer treatment; and $5,000 to the HomeServices Foundation for Housing Equity, which works to increase homeownership and build generational wealth for communities of color.
“[The Sunshine Kids] is an amazing organization that creates such positive experiences for children and teens during a very tough time in their lives,” BHHS CEO Diane Glass said. “We proudly sponsor the Chicago Teen Get Away that occurs in the fall where teens from all over the country come visit and participate in fun activities all over the city and create bonds with other kids going through similar things.
“During our annual Community Kindness events, our offices help philanthropic organizations with their time and talents and lend extra hands, including Habitat for Humanity, where agents helped build new townhomes.
“At BHHS Chicago, we serve passionately to make an impact locally as well as nationally. Supporting the HomeServices Foundation for Housing Equity aligns with our company mission and helps us do just that.”
The Kindness Foundation is BHHS Chicago’s 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which supports initiatives to improve local communities.
