M/I Homes’ Chicago division closed on the sale of its 2025 Benefit Home in Plainfield, which generated a $215,000 donation for the Pelotonia cancer-research organization.
The local M/I Homes unit raised another $85,000 for Pelotonia through its 2025 golf outing fundraiser, bringing its total donation this year to $300,000.
“As we approach the season of giving around the upcoming holidays, we are incredibly honored to have been able to use our work and industry relationships to support Pelotonia and its vital mission of fighting a disease that impacts so many of us directly or indirectly,” said Rick Champine, area president of M/I Homes. “Even more gratifying is that both the Benefit Home program and our golf outing fundraiser showcase the incredible generosity of our industry partners, whose support and participation is integral to the success of these initiatives.”
Construction of the 2025 Chicago Benefit Home, located in M/I Homes’ Riverstone development in southwest suburban Plainfield, began in April. The home is built with M/I’s two-story Barclay floor plan, which features an open-concept kitchen and family room, four bedrooms, full basement and two-car garage.
This is the fourth year in a row that M/I Homes of Chicago has participated in the Benefit Home program, in which M/I Homes’ 17 geographic divisions build a home at one of their local communities at a reduced cost. The homes are sold at market value, with profits donated to Pelotonia. With the 2025 home, M/I Homes of Chicago has raised $685,000 through the program, and nationally, M/I Homes has raised over $11 million.
