Banner Real Estate Group broke ground on The Faywell, a 334-unit multifamily community in downtown Wheaton, after nearly five years of development. The first move-ins are expected in the fall of 2026.

Located at 220 W. Liberty Drive, The Faywell sits adjacent to the Metra Union Pacific West station with service to downtown Chicago.

It will feature a resort-style pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, coworking lounge, bike parking and direct access to the DuPage County Prairie Path — one of the region’s popular recreational trails.

Egg Harbor Café will make its return to Wheaton in the development’s ground-floor retail space.

“We’re excited to bring The Faywell to life as a best-in-class residential option in a location with so much vibrancy, charm and walkability, as well as the convenience of the Metra commuter station,” Banner CEO Bob Flannery said. “This development represents not only a significant investment in Wheaton’s continued growth but also a long-term commitment to improve the quality of life in the community and contribute to the vibrancy of downtown Wheaton. We extend our sincere thanks to the City of Wheaton, particularly City Manager Michael Dzugan and Mayor Phil Suess, for their collaboration and steadfast support of this development.”

This is such cool news for Wheaton! The Faywell sounds like it’s gonna be an awesome place to live with that pool and fitness center—plus, being right next to the Metra station is perfect for getting to Chicago. I’m a big fan of real estate projects that add to the community vibe
