Keeping up with Who’s Who — literally

by Agent X

September was nonstop. I was still nursing a hangover from the last industry party while primping for the next fancy installation ceremony. But any excuse to dress up makes it all worth it.

Of course, as you loyal readers know, Chicago Agent also hosted its annual Who’s Who launch party on Sept. 17. Easily my favorite shindig of the season. This year, it had a 1920s vibe: cigarette girls (flaunting Champagne instead of smokes — still solid), live jazz and glitz-and-glam decor galore. Thankfully, I look good in pinstripes. The theme was fitting at 850 Lake Shore Drive, a posh, historic building. If you want FOMO, check out the sweet pics on p. 20.

Then, the very next day, Rate Palooza took place at Recess at City Hall. Joel Schaub, who graced the front of this year’s Who’s Who issue, hosted a VIP section of the party which included a freaky good tarot card reader. She told me I’ll meet a handsome, mysterious stranger in the next month … stay tuned.

What a busy week — and I haven’t even gotten to CAR’s induction ceremony, which took place that Friday, on Sept. 20. I try to show face at all the installations. CAR’s was held at the Hilton Chicago and Illinois REALTORS®’ was at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort on Sept. 17. Mainstreet’s induction was on Sept. 12 at DiNolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen; NSBAR’s was on Sept. 4 at Tree Top at Ravinia

And let’s not forget about NAR’s Innovation, Opportunity and Investment Summit on Aug. 28-29 which brought real estate peeps from across the country to Chicago. We love to show off. The post-party featured dripping Italian beefs, deep-dish pizza and Garrett’s popcorn, plus a performance by The Jesse White Tumblers. I saw you jammin’ by the DJ booth, Marki Lemons Ryhal!

I know, I know, some of you may be tired as we enter October. I get it. But you need to keep the energy up for costume parties — I’m turning my place into a haunted open house — and October birthdays! First up we have Elizabeth Goodchild and Simon Stein on Oct. 3, followed by German Llanos and Michael Walsh on Oct. 4, then Sharbel Shamoon on Oct. 6, Nicole Hajdu on Oct. 7. There’s a few days rest before we pick back up with Jenny Sepulveda Oct. 10 and Beth Wexler on Oct. 11. On Oct. 13, Josh Lipton turns a year older, then Maria Thanansouras and Ryan Wynia on Oct. 14, Kevin Serafin on Oct. 16 and Christina Breuer McNamee on Oct. 17. Then we move into the 20s, with Karen Peterson on Oct. 22, Matt Garrison and Emily Sachs Wong on Oct. 23 and another set of b-day twins, Amy Duong Kim and Jon Goldman, on Oct. 24. Inching closer to Halloween, Stefanie Neuman Lavelle and Cathy Stabb celebrate Oct. 28, and, yet another couple of b-day twins, Steven Maher and Monique Pierron-Strong on Oct. 30. Finally, Michael Thanasouras and Eileen Andersen kick off the November b-days on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5. Long live Scorpio season!

Also, while we’re celebrating, a special shoutout to Tony Mattar, who didn’t make it to the Who’s Who party because he was busy getting engaged — in Italy! I better be invited to the wedding.
