No days off

by Agent X

Now that spring is in our rearview mirror, the sun is shinning bright, and the iced cold drinks are flowing. It’s about time I take a break, put my feet up and sip on an Aperol Spritz after a long day of selling houses. Don’t worry, I have a vacation planned in a few short weeks so you have plenty of time to catch up to my caliber.

Word on the street (and by street, I mean a very historically significant one) is that the childhood home of none other than Pope Leo XIV is being considered for official landmark status in Dolton. But plot twist! The current owner has decided to shake things up and put this holy grail of real estate on the auction block this month, aiming to sell to the highest bidder. Now, let’s be real—when it comes to selling iconic, one-of-a-kind homes, who else would you trust? Exactly. This home calls for more than just a sign in the yard—it needs me and I’m divinely good at what I do.

In the meantime, did you guys check out Matt Laricy’s key to success in his recent Instagram post? I’ll give you a hint: it’s not the blue suit. And this whole time we thought we had him figured out! I will say, while it caught me by surprise, it definitely also triggered my appetite. I’ve always been a huge PB&J fan, but since seeing Laricy snacking on those sammies in between appointments, he might be on to something.

So case in point, when you don’t have time for a reservation at [insert popular restaurant name] because you’re just closing deal after deal, make yourself a PB&J for the road.

Speaking of fancy food, some fellow agents of mine quickly caught the summer vibe I was throwing down. The Compass Chicago Young Professionals hosted their Summer Soire on May 21 at Paradise Park. Nothing kicks off a party like good company, hot pizza and cold cocktails. Throw in some great music and someone singing off-key, and you’ve got a night to remember.

That’s exactly what a few lucky agents got to experience firsthand at the Post Malone concert at Wrigley Field the weekend before Memorial Day. Posty did what Posty does — absolutely shredded it on stage — with none other than his tattooed, soulful sidekick (and one of my personal faves), Jelly Roll. The only thing that could’ve made it more iconic? Me, obviously. Front row, living my best life, probably screaming the lyrics louder than Posty himself. Missed opportunity, truly.

And finally, let’s raise a toast to our fabulous June birthdays, Whether they’re kicking off the month or wrapping it up in style, these legends deserve all the cake, confetti and attention. As always, it’s a busy month. Amanda McMillan Dollinger kicks us off this month on June 6. Rebecca Thomson is the next day on June 7, followed by Natasha Motev on June 8. Birthday twins Joe Zimmerman and Jody Kelly are celebrating on June 11 and we have Darlene Little on June 12. Dave Hanna, Mabel Guzman and Karen Schmid are all on June 17. Ginna Ryan has the day to herself on June 18 and Jennifer Leong on June 19. Julius Barrutia and Colleen Harper are on June 21 and Rebecca Jensen on June 22. We have John Poast on June 23 and Heidi Seagren on June 24. To wrap up the celebrations, Dan Wagner and Chip Cornelius are on June 27.
