Just 90 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Chicago lies a low-key romantic getaway: Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The small town ranked among the most romantic in the nation, according to a new study from New York Travel Guides.
The publication analyzed 600 small towns across America, looking at romantic lodging options, romantic activities, historic architecture, scenery and the number of cozy coffee shops and restaurants.
Taking all that into account, Lake Geneva came in at No. 43.
Reporting on the study, the Milwaukee news outlet TMJ4 highlighted Lake Geneva favorites like the Cornerstone Shop and May’s Gifts along Main Street and the Market of Lake Geneva as potential romantic attractions. It also noted the town’s local boat tours and unique scenery, full of mansions and nature.
