Three former Dream Town Realty agents have returned to the brokerage, according to a statement from the company.

Powell returns after a year-and-a-half hiatus at eXp Realty, while Furla comes back from Compass and Rosen from d’aprile properties. 

Powell’s departure from Dream Town in spring of 2021 was notable in part because of her decade-long tenure at the brokerage, where she spearheaded the first LGTBQ+ division in the nation.

Powell said in an interview with Chicago Agent that she had an amazing experience at eXp but that she missed the brokerage culture at Dream Town. “I felt celebrated at Dream Town,” she said. 

The feeling of acceptance, community and support at the brokerage all contributed to the decision, she said. “What I really missed is the people,” she added.

Powell said she loves the eXp brokerage concept, which encourages recruiting other agents, but said it wasn’t the right time for her career.

She encouraged peers to always consider new opportunities that come along. “Always take the meeting,” she said of potential work opportunities that present themselves. “Peek your head up out of the clouds every handful of years and evaluate the industry. There might be an appropriate reason to pivot.”
