Lauren Mitrick Wood, Broker/Team Lead for Olive Well Compass

by Chicago Agent

Number of years in real estate:

18-ish.

Describe your look:

Relaxed and stylish with a bit of class and a splash of sass. Every outfit should be able to take you from showings to new client meetings to dinner, even a concert or sporting event. You never know what the day holds so it’s best to be dressed and ready for anything.

What do you consider a “fashion don’t”?

DO NOT wear excessively wrinkled clothing, please, for the love of God.

What style has come back into fashion that you think shouldn’t have?

I actually love all the trends that probably should not have come back like scrunchies, tie-dye and clogs.

What item of clothing gets you the most compliments?

Long floral dresses, much like the one I’m wearing in this shoot. Also hats.

What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past?

Wearing socks and sandals. OMG, did I just say that?!

Where are your favorite clothing stores or brands?

I absolutely adore Gemini — they have sustainable unique brands from all over the globe. It’s like going shopping in Europe but instead it’s just around the block on Division in Wicker Park.

What fashion accessory do you feel naked without?

Earrings — 100%

Who is your style icon?

Dakota Johnson. I love her at-home style, she always looks perfectly effortless.

What decade or time period had the best fashion in your opinion?

1960’s Palm Springs. Iconic, over the top and perfect all at the same time.

What’s the most expensive or meaningful accessory or piece of clothing you’ve ever acquired?

Do you still have it? My wedding dress for sure, and yes, I still have it. But for everyday items, it’s the Chloe shoes pictured here or my Burberry rain jacket which is a classic. I also bought Fendi black pumps once — still got ‘em.

What item in your closet do you wear the most?

My Lululemon leggings when I’m not working and when I am working, loose fitting dresses that can take me from day to night.

Does your style reflect your personal brand?

If so, how? My style and personal brand are pretty cohesive. I like wearing neutrals, adding in textures and layers to achieve an effortless yet put together look, very similar to the Olive Well brand.

Autumn Adeigbo dress, Chloe shoes, necklace custom made at Takohl Fine Jewelry in West Loop.
