Describe your look. Does your style reflect your personal brand? I would say my style matches my even-keeled personality — dark or muted tones that typically go under the radar, but I will put a little spice in with patterns or textures that make it fun.
What do you consider a “fashion don’t”? The only thing I would advise against is when professionals wear wrinkled clothes. The way you present yourself does matter. Always make sure to clean and iron your clothes. You can thank my mom for making me iron every single outfit I had for the upcoming school week on Sundays as a kid.
What style has come back into fashion that shouldn’t have? I don’t mind the fashion that has come back; what’s interesting is that a lot of the styles people wear now, especially with streetwear, are outfits that myself and my peers would have never been caught dead in, but I love how the past has influenced my generation’s perspective on fashion today.
What item of clothing gets you the most compliments? I have a houndstooth-pattern coat that I got from Gap and had tailored that people love!
What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past? Back in seventh grade, I wore two different stripe patterns. I had checkered shorts with a striped shirt. My best friend had actually called me out on it and I didn’t think much of it. Once I got home and looked at myself in the mirror and saw what he was talking about, I was mortified! I swore to never do that to myself again.
Where are your favorite clothing stores or brands? I love a good T.J. Maxx and Marshalls haul — you can find some gems. You can also find me at Gap, Perry Ellis and Cole Haan.
Who is your style icon? My older brother definitely played a huge role in the way I dress. I was the little brother who would go in his closet when he wasn’t home and I would just go shopping for the week!
What item in your closet do you wear the most? As soon as I get home, I will run and find the coziest hoodie.
