BrokerAssist selected for 2020 REACH Canada proptech accelerator program

by Jason Porterfield

The National Association of Realtors recently announced that BrokerAssist, an on-demand marketing and sales platform developed by Dream Town Realty agents Marshall Beck and Dan Spillane, was selected to take part in the REACH Canada accelerator program.

REACH Canada is backed by Second Century Ventures, the NAR’s strategic venture capital arm. BrokerAssist was one of eight companies chosen for the program’s inaugural cohort. The mobile-first platform facilitates a gig-economy environment by helping agents and brokers collaborate in real-time with other pros on inspections, showings, open houses and other tasks. BrokerAssist also offers a free, nationwide referral platform designed to help agents connect and work with each other on transactions.

“We are thrilled to be a 2020 REACH Canada accelerator company,” said Beck, BrokerAssist’s CEO. “We can’t wait to work alongside the REACH Canada, SCV, NAR teams and seven other inspiring proptech companies. This brings to fruition our strategic plans to enter the Canadian market as we continue to expand our US presence.”

The companies chosen for REACH Canada 2020 are classified within four categories: Sales & Marketing Tools, Consumer Insights, Commercial Applications and Homeownership Solutions & Affordability. BrokerAssist slotted into the Sales & Marketing Tools vertical. Collectively, the eight companies have raised more than $50 million in capital and represents a market capitalization of more than $180 million.

The eight companies will receive access to exclusive networking opportunities, mentorships, a curated insight panel and market exposure. REACH seeks to leverage the NAR’s 1.4 million members and global network of executives to help technology companies launch into the real estate vertical and its adjacent markets.

“This year has highlighted the significant impact that technology has and will continue to have on the real estate industry,” said Second Century Ventures President and NAR CEO Bob Goldberg. “With the help of virtual staging tools, e-signature platforms, remote notarization and even moving services, Realtors and consumers have been able to continue to list and close transactions in the midst of a year unlike any other. NAR’s ability to find the world’s most promising and productive new technologies through programs like REACH will help Realtors navigate the current market and build their businesses for the years ahead.”

Other companies chosen for REACH Canada 2020 are: Local Logic, HonestDoor and Setter (Consumer Insights); Key and RentMoola (Homeownership Solutions & Affordability; Parkbench (Sales & Marketing Tools); and Clik.ai (Commercial Market).
