@properties opens Gold Coast office
by Juliet Jacques
Last week, @properties announced that it is expanding to the Gold Coast with an office in the Bloomingdales building on Michigan Avenue. The office was previously leased to Compass, which has recently closed several offices across the county, according to The Real Deal.
The office will serve 300 agents and will be headed by Rick Sobin and Grace Goro Kaage. “We would certainly describe this new office as a flagship,” said @properties co-founder Thad Wong in a press release. “It is important for us to provide our agents and clients with a first-class working and meeting space in what many would consider the nicest office building in the best location in the Gold Coast.”
The company contextualized the move as an expansion of its reach in the luxury market, noting @properties’ market share of sales over $1 million is up 21% from last year. “As a company that was essentially founded and built on the incredible growth of the downtown residential market over the past two decades, we believe Chicago will make it through this moment in time and emerge even stronger,” said co-founder Mike Golden.
This will be the company’s second location in the area; @properties’ release noted that it will maintain an existing storefront office at 906 N. State St.
