Compass welcomes new team, Zillow loses exec, new staffer coming to CAR and more

Compass brings on “urban to suburban” team

On Monday, a new team moved over from @properties to Compass Chicago. The MacPherson Westhoff Group is led by Pam MacPherson and Haley Westhoff.

The team of 10, which characterizes itself as a “urban to suburban concierge,” will cover the North Shore, western suburbs and the north side of the city and specializes in renovations, investments and helping sellers prepare their listings for the market.

Zillow bigwig moving on

Zillow’s president of media and marketplaces is parting ways with the listings giant. In a post on LinkedIn yesterday, Greg Schwartz characterized his departure as amicable and praised Zillow’s leadership throughout their continued “reinvention.”

As for his next steps, Schwartz hinted that he may be getting into local politics in his home city of Seattle. “Our city is soaring with the greatest financial, intellectual and innovation boom in history, yet in many areas we have fallen flat. We can do better,” he wrote. “Soon, you will start to hear about a new civic organization with heavyweights from Washington State politics, community advocacy groups and business.”

CAR announces new strategic manager

The Chicago Association of Realtors announced Monday that Zack Wahlquist will be joining the organization as its new executive vice president on Dec. 2. The role is an operational one, including performance management and implementing the association’s strategic plan, as well as supervisory and oversight-oriented. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Zack to our team,” said CAR CEO Michelle Mills Clement. “We conducted a thorough search and extensive interview process, involving our volunteer leadership team, management team and staff, in order to find the best fit for the role.”

Wahlquist brings association management experience from roles as executive director for the Network for Change and Continuous Improvement and director of education for the Association of College Unions International.

Jameson Sotheby’s brings on former CB agent

Late last week, Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty announced that Rachel Krueger will be joining its North Avenue office. Prior to the move, Krueger was stationed at Coldwell Banker’s Lincoln Park office.

BHHS looks to expand title work with new hire

On Monday, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Group announced Michael Montalvo will be the new vice president of Fort Dearborn Title, the firm’s affiliated title company. He’ll be tasked with increasing operations and expanding the firm’s network of title attorneys.

Montalvo was most recently a regional vice president of North American Title and has also spent time with Fidelity and Professional National Title during his 25-year tenure in the title insurance industry.
