Two of Chicagoland’s school districts carry the highest housing premiums in the nation, according to a realtor.com analysis.
In the Kenilworth Sd 38 and Winnetka Sd 36 school districts, the median list price is far above the median for Cook County. For Kenilworth, the median price of $1.612 million is 606 percent over Cook County’s $266,000, while in Winnetka, the median price of $1.385 million carries a 521 percent premium; among all the nation’s school districts, those two were the fifth and ninth most exclusive, relative to their counties.
One other Chicagoland district placed in the top 20 – Glencoe Sd 35 School District, where the $1.15 million median price was 432 percent above the county.
