Baird & Warner recently announced the winners of their ‘160 Years of Giving Back’ contest. Sixteen local Chicagoland nonprofits each received a $10,000 grant, with the total company donation being over $160,000.

Recipients were hand-picked by the public to celebrate Baird & Warner’s 160th anniversary. More than 80,000 votes were amassed throughout the month-long program.

“When we launched ‘160 Years of Giving Back,’ we were very excited about the idea of opening the voting to the general public, but we never expected such a tremendous response,” said Jennifer Alter Warden, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Baird & Warner. “There is truly no better way to celebrate Baird & Warner’s 160th anniversary than by empowering our neighbors to help in our local communities.”

The following organizations received a grant:

  • Community Partners for Affordable Housing
  • Connections for the Homeless
  • Crisis Center for South Suburbia
  • Family Promise North Shore
  • Family Shelter Service
  • Housing Forward
  • Lazarus House
  • McHenry County PADS

  • PADS Lake County
  • PADS of Elgin, Inc
  • Realtors Against Homelessness and District 211 Foundation
  • Shelter, Inc.

All 25 Baird & Warner branch offices nominated a nonprofit that specializes in aiding those less fortunate and helps them live healthy, successful and productive lives. From Sept. 1 to 30, Baird & Warner employees, broker associates, nominated organizations and the general public voted for their favorite charities.
