What Chicagoland suburbs saw the most home sales in April?
April was a good month for home sales in suburban Chicago, with sales rising 12.8 percent year-over-year.
Some suburban markets, though, performed better than others, and utilizing numbers from the latest Real Time Housing Market Tracker from Redfin, Chicago Agent assembled a series of graphs that examined what suburbs saw the most home sales in April.
The first graph examines total home sales:
Aurora and Naperville are the usual suspects at the top, though sales in those two suburbs did increase 15.2 and 14.9 percent, respectively, from March to April.
The two biggest surprises, however, were Elgin and Bolingbrook. Sales in Elgin jumped 23.4 percent month-to-month, and in Bolingbrook, sales were up 29.2 percent.
In the single-family marketplace, the scenery changes somewhat:
The top-five suburbs are unchanged, but Bolingbrook leaps to the No. 6 position, and Oswego joins in at No. 10.
Interestingly, the monthly change in sales was even more pronounced in the single-family market, where sales increased 21.9 percent for Aurora, 25.4 percent for Naperville and 30.5 percent for Bolingbrook.
Finally, in the condo/townhome marketplace, the scenery changes further:
Aurora and Naperville are still No. 1 and 2, but their advantage over other markets has lessened considerably. Also of note are the strong fourth- and fifth-place showings for Schaumburg and Palatine, where sales increased 32.4 and 36.1 percent, respectively.
How about prices?
