Where, in our vast urban housing landscape, did agents sell the most homes?
Earlier this week, we reported on the top-selling suburbs across Chicagoland, and now we’re back (armed with additional data from Redfin) to report on the city’s top-selling neighborhoods.
The numbers are plainly visible in our infographic below, but here are a few details to keep in mind:
- Last week, we reported that home sales in Chicago were down by 8.3 percent, and that decline was quite evident in the numbers we analyzed.
- For instance, Near North was still the top-selling neighborhood by a wide margin, but its January sales were down 24.5 percent; similarly, sales were down 36.7 percent in Lincoln Park, 34.51 percent in West Town and 45 percent in the South Loop.
- The single-family sector also saw sales slip; in the mighty Ashburn, sales were down 40.81 percent, while they fell 44.12 percent in Norwood Park.
