Amongst the midsized companies on Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplace 2014 list is @properties sitting at No. 8. For the second consecutive year, the largest independent real estate brokerage firm in Illinois, has been recognized as one of the Chicago Tribune’s Top 100 Workplaces, moving up two spots from the previous year.

Those included on the Top Workplaces list are selected based solely on employee feedback received from a survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement.

Established in 2000 by Michael Golden and Thaddeus Wong, @properties is the No. 1 residential real estate brokerage in Chicago by market share and one of the 20 largest residential brokerage firms in the U.S. The firm has continued its swift expansion, opening four new offices over the last year in the city of Chicago, surrounding suburbs and Southwest Michigan.

“We’re incredibly proud to receive this award for the second year in a row,” said Wong. “To us, it’s a true reflection of the teamwork and dedication we see on a daily basis at @properties, between our brokers, managers, and staff members.”

The firm has developed a unique corporate culture through various initiatives, according to Wong and Golden. Every week, the firm offers a variety of training and coaching programs for brokers. The company also holds a number of events for brokers and staff members throughout the year, including a large holiday party, children’s play date, movie nights, Cubs game outing and the @awards program.
