August was a great month for Chicagoland real estate, but what suburbs and neighborhoods stood out from the pack?
As we reported last week, August was a sterling month of real estate for the nine-county Chicagoland area, with home sales rising 24.3 percent year-over-year and median price rising 16.2 percent; similarly, home sales were up 22.0 percent in the city of Chicago and 28 percent in the surrounding suburbs.
Of Chicagoland’s many sub-markets in the city and suburbs, though, which ones saw the most activity in August? To answer that question, we combed through MRED statistics that both the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors and the Chicago Association of Realtors provided us, and put together the following infographic:
