Downers Grove-based Realtor organization Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe) has awarded Libertyville Realtor De Shaun Cox with its Community Service Award, according to a July 26 press release.

Cox was nominated for the award by her colleagues at Prudential Rubloff, and MORe will donate $1,000 to the Libertyville Civic Center on her behalf.

According to the press release, MORe’s Community Service Award recognizes Realtors who, “have made an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in their communities through volunteer work [and] contributing a significant amount of personal time to their cause.”

Currently serving as a co-chairman for the Libertyville Days Festival, Cox’s philanthropic efforts with the Libertyville Civic Center, which works with, “local social, charitable and civic organizations and provides a gathering space for the community,” helped her achieve this recognition.

“She was elected to the Libertyville Civic Center’s board of directors two years ago, and during the last 16 months has helped to raise more than $60,000 to help with upkeep and improvements,” according to the press release.

MORe Co-Presidents Tom Krettler and Jack Persin both acknowledged Cox’s hard work in the village of Libertyville.

“De Shaun’s efforts have helped many local residents, from Cub Scouts to small business owners. She truly has helped make Libertyville a better place to live,” said Persin.
