Mike Vesole, Team Leader – Mike Vesole Group (MV|G)

@Properties – Gold Coast

What was your first job in the realty industry?
I worked for Gold Coast Realty for nearly two years. I started part time, and was doing more volume than most full-time agents. I began full time with Gold Coast and represented them on their own condo conversion sales. This was a great start for me.

Who inspires you?
My dad, who was a physician and always went above and beyond the normal call of duty. He passed away a year and a half ago, and has always been a strong influence in my work ethic and ambitions.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
Boating, I spend as much time as I can on the lake in the summer. Winters are long, so I need to take advantage of the time we have.

How did you learn the business?
I learned a lot from the guys at Gold Coast Realty. Nathan Strand is a veteran in this business and taught me all the ins and outs when I got my start.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Time management is hard to do. Trying to fit everything into one day that would normally require two or three days isn’t easy. It gets overwhelming, but the support from the team concept we have at MV|G helps to manage the work load.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
This year MV|G led @properties in buyer sales. That is a huge accomplishment for me and my group, who are among over 650 agents that I feel are some of the best in the business and have many more years of experience than we do. It really put everything into perspective for me and definitely proved that hard work pays off.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
I really like 600 N. Fairbanks designed by Helmut Jahn. It’s very clean lined and modern.

What kind of car do you drive?
An ‘07 BMW X5. And soon to be a Moped if gas prices keep rising!

BlackBerry, Palm or paper?
Crackberry – I live on this thing. It’s a part of my anatomy by now.

What is your favorite city after Chicago?
I really like South Beach because it’s laid back and has great weather. It’s a nice place to relax and put the stress behind.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Do anything and everything, there isn’t a wrong answer in this business. You can’t get discouraged because this business is always variable. You just have to put yourself in the right place at the right time.
