Vol. 5, Iss. 1, You Tell Us: What is your New Year’s real estate resolution?

by Chicago Agent

Cynthia Fitch
Century 21 S.G.R.
South Loop

As a new part-time agent, my resolution is to be a sponge and become knowledgeable about key aspects of the business, build a strong client base, provide exceptional service and earn at least $30,000 my first year.

In short, I want to learn to be the best from the best. In my opinion, this means learning from the successes as well as mistakes of my colleagues and competition. My focus will be to identify and market to my sphere of influence by continuing my education, working open houses and shadowing experienced agents. As an experienced CPA, and with assistance from my “techy” husband, I would like to master the technical and financial tools of the industry.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I have traveled extensively to Asian countries in 2007 to build relationships and partnerships with various international real estate consulting groups and introduce Chicago. Asians typically perceive Chicago as an untapped market with a great amount of potential. What I expect to achieve in 2008 is to gain the trust and confidence of Asian investors through the sale of The Chicago Spire. I believe my experience and cross-cultural knowledge will help me achieve this goal.

In the new year we will see a continuation of steady improvements and upgrades in our office’s technology department. This is just a small sample of our goals for 2008 and we are excited for another great year!

In 2008, I am going to make a better effort of keeping in touch with my inactive client base and strengthening my referral business. It’s always a bit of sunshine during a hectic day to receive a call that goes something like this, “Sesalee, I’m sending someone your way…”
