Ryland Homes has taken to the phones to help one of their own. Ryland project manager, Kelly King, was paralyzed from the chest down after falling from a tree during a hunting trip on Sept. 1 of this year.
According to Ryland North region president, Peter Skelly, the Ryland family is hitting the phones to help their friend and colleague purchase much needed equipment for his return home from Marion Joy Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton.
Skelly has asked the Ryland family to pitch in and take pledges from vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, bankers and developers in, what they’re calling, operation “Kelly’s Heroes.”
King has been a Ryland project manager for more than 11 years and has supervised the building of more than 750 homes in the Chicago area. King has a wife of 22 years, Tricia, and two daughters, Megan and Erin.
The proceeds will go towards King’s medical expenses and equipment.
Anyone interested in making a donation to Kelly and his family can send a check to the Kelly King Fund in care of Chris Gach at Ryland Homes, 1141 E. Main St., #108, East Dundee, IL 60118.
