Penny Charlson, Vice President NMLS # 285422

Nichole Goecks, Licensed Sales Assistant NMLS # 2547835

Penny Charlson adds value to the lending side of transactions from having been a Realtor for 15 years before making the leap to mortgage lending. “The experience gave me a deep understanding of this industry from start to finish, and an ability to take a comprehensive approach to every real estate transaction,” says Charlson, vice president of mortgage lending with Rate. She’s worked side by side for a decade with her daughter and licensed sales assistant Nichole Goecks. This dynamic mother/daughter team provides clients with a personal and highly communicative experience.

“We like to call it ‘a boutique service experience,’” adds Charlson. “You get two for one with Niki and me. We are available 24/7 almost literally!” Customers have a high level of trust in their problem-solving capabilities, fast and attentive service, and seamless guidance through a complex process.

Their well-rounded experience with conventional and government loans gives them the ability to be nimble and attack challenges with skill and creativity. “We know how to get to the core of a customer’s issues and needs,” insist Charlson and Goecks, “and by having a deep understanding of the process, we know how to get things done on time!”

The team works with a lot of VA loans and is especially proud that Rate does not charge lender fees to veterans in appreciation of their service.

Charlson is a member of the Oconomowoc Rotary Club, the Jefferson County Board of Realtors and the nonprofit Homes for Heroes, which helps veterans, firefighters, medical personnel and law enforcement save money on their home purchases.

When Charlson is not working, she spends her free time in nature, hiking, cycling and swimming. Goecks is a horror movie enthusiast and spends her free time cooking and perfecting her barbecue skills.
