Because Chicago is such a vibrant city, Maureen Kerrigan Flavin enjoys exploring its neighborhoods and local restaurants and discovering new things to do. After living in three different states, she found the area to be both interesting and livable. “The existing housing options are so broad in Chicago that I started exploring and evaluating different property types before purchasing,” Flavin recalls. “Through my experiences of purchasing and renovating properties, I realized I could help other people with their real estate needs.”
A broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, Flavin coordinates multifaceted client moves, manages home improvements, professionally stages homes for sellers and targets properties for buyers. Her market encompasses the western Chicago suburbs, which includes areas such as Downers Grove, Oak Brook, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Lombard, Westmont and Lemont. She also supports clients primarily buying in Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park and Oak Park.
Flavin is a blend of passion, experience and action. She serves on Mainstreet Board of Realtor’s Senior Services Committee and Consumer Outreach Task Force and holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering. “I have extensive experience in planning projects, assessing risks and managing details to ensure a project’s successful completion,” she says.
Flavin is a 2024 recipient of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chairman’s Circle Gold Award for ranking among the top 2% of brokers across the nation. She has also been named a Five-Star Professional for eight consecutive years. “My experience and interests make me unique in real estate,” she explains.
Besides being an avid gardener and amateur artist, Flavin has raised six young adults in the Chicago area. “I’ve toured numerous schools as my children attended three different high schools and played a lot of sports,” she shares. “This gives me a wide range of firsthand knowledge about communities to share with clients.”
