Though she’s a broker associate with Luxury Living, Kate Samuelson is also an exclusive leasing agent, renting luxury apartments in their managed buildings. During prime season, she stays extremely busy leasing between three different buildings throughout River North and Streeterville. “I love having more than one property available at the same time,” Samuelson shares. “That way, if one apartment doesn’t work for a potential applicant, I have another one in my back pocket to offer right away.”

Luxury Living named Samuelson Top Producer of Exclusives in 2024, and she received the company’s Top Team Player award the same year. After a successful career in catering and events at Navy Pier, she made a seamless transition into real estate. “My job in catering and hospitality was actually very similar to being a Realtor, as it’s the same skill set,” she says. “Communication is the biggest component, with experience and reaction times playing close seconds.”

A Chicago native, Samuelson raised her two sons in the Wrigleyville area and currently lives in Lincoln Square. She learned the city by walking everywhere from the Gold Coast to Lincoln Park, Lakeview and Rogers Park. “What I love most about Chicago is that a car is not a must; in fact, it can just be a needless expense,” she adds. “Walking is great exercise and is often quicker than driving.”

Samuelson’s clients trust her recommendations on everything from the best pizza places, restaurants and food stands to the top pools and beaches in the city. “I even know where to buy the best fountain beverage in any given neighborhood!” she declares.
