Maya Puentes’ journey into real estate, more than four years ago, was driven by her passion for interior design. Inspired by her husband, who owns a handyman business, Puentes saw the opportunity to combine her creative talents and entrepreneurial spirit with her desire to help others. “I have loved seeing how our teamwork has translated into another way to offer my clients a little something extra,” she says. “Whether it’s working together to help my clients prepare for the market, or by turning their house into a home and dreams into reality.”
A long-time resident of Oak Park, Puentes’ market area is centered around Oak Park and the near-west suburbs of Chicago. She is deeply connected to the community and is actively involved in various local organizations. Although she embraces technology as a valuable tool to run her business efficiently, she emphasizes the importance of personal connections. “Nothing beats the trust built through showing kindness and compassion during life’s everyday interactions, showing up for those around you and just being yourself,” she says.
Puentes’ client-centered approach is both fun-loving and process driven. “I try to bring as much joy and ease to an inevitably stressful situation, while bringing my detail-oriented traits to the table where it counts the most.” Her clients consistently praise her for her patience, communication, negotiating skills, trustworthiness, and unwavering support. All things that helped her build an entirely referral-based business and earned her the President’s Club Level Top Producer Award, putting her in the top 15% of her company, Baird and Warner.
In addition to her real estate accomplishments, Puentes actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. She participates in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Oak Park Area Association of Realtors, and is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.
Outside of work, Puentes describes herself as a free spirit who loves to dance, travel, spend time in nature, and enjoy good times with loved ones. She embraces new experiences with positive energy and an enthusiasm for life.
