With cousins who are first- and second-generation Realtors, a brother who is a real estate attorney and a sister who manages a title company, Laura Ann Mitrick admits that although real estate runs in her blood, she tried to avoid going into it. However, after starting her career managing a top producer, she admits to being “addicted after I sold my first condo.”
A Realtor with COMPASS Chicago, Mitrick is a member of the Olive Well team with her cousins Lauren Mitrick Wood and Charlie Wood. A resident of Lincoln Park, she owns a lake home in Michigan, where she is also licensed, and holds designations as a resort and second-home specialist, real estate negotiation specialist, certified property manager and pricing strategy advisor. “I am a lakefront specialist from the North Shore to Southwest Michigan’s sandy lakeshores, helping clients achieve the best of both city and lake life,” she explains. “It helps that I live the lifestyle I help people achieve. I love where I live and I want that for my clients too.” With the recent migration of people from Chicagoland to Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin, Mitrick decided to launch a Great Lakes network of brokers to foster collaboration and bridge the gaps in those markets.
COMPASS has named Mitrick a top-producing team member for the past eight years and bestowed on her a Platinum Award in 2023. “Surrounding myself with legends in this business is what helps me rise above my competition,” she shares. “Experience is crucial, but mentors and professional role models help me strive to be a better agent.” Known for her organizational and methodical approach, she closed the highest sale of her career this year and shattered her sales goals in the first quarter.
When not working, Mitrick supports juvenile diabetes research and advocates for people with special needs, like her sister and her friends at Park Lawn in Oak Lawn. She is also a plant enthusiast, currently tending to her more than 120 succulents.
