Real estate has proven to be a natural fit for Ginny Zerang. She grew up with an entrepreneur/real estate developer dad who took her to projects and always explained what he was doing, from his initial vision to the final result. Without exception, he was passionate about his work and that passion was contagious.

“It was always interesting and new, and I was constantly learning from him,” recalls Zerang, a broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago in Glenview. “It made me not afraid to try different things and challenge myself in new ways.”

Zerang represents residential and commercial clients in the city and suburbs, going where her clients need her to go. If they haven’t committed to a particular neighborhood, she assesses their criteria and makes suggestions. “I am a better overall agent by expanding my range and being open,” she says. “I see more and appreciate more communities rather than limiting myself to one area. The bulk of my business has been first-time homebuyers, which I absolutely love.”

A tireless and patient advocate for clients, she does everything she can to make the process easy for them. In fact, she’s so focused on her clients that she had no idea she won a 2022 Leading Edge award for ranking among the top 10 percent of the entire BHHS network—an exciting accomplishment, considering the past few years were incredibly challenging in the industry. She also earned a Trailblazer award from the company in 2020.

Still, she bases her success on how happy her clients are once the deal on their home closes. “I have always believed that a house is different than a home,” she says. “The house is the structure, but the home is what welcomes you back in and hopefully where you find your peace. That is what I wish for my clients and their families.”
