After her studies in teaching at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Bridget Urquhart worked as a residential mortgage loan processor at Fleet Mortgage. She transitioned to a position as a loan officer after having her first child and quickly fell in love with the sales aspect of the job and the competition surrounding production. Urquhart frequently received awards for top production before moving on to different mortgage companies.
She eventually opened her own successful mortgage broker shop, Coyne Financial LLC (Coyne is her maiden name), which she operated for 12 years before joining Blueleaf Lending LLC. “I made the decision, along with my entire staff, to join Blueleaf Lending,” she explains. “We were a turnkey operation with similar business values that fit in seamlessly with them.” Late in 2021, Blueleaf Lending was acquired by GreenState Credit Union, where Urquhart is excited to continue her roles as vice president of mortgage lending and producing sales manager. Established in 1938, GSCU is a member-owned financial cooperative serving 350,000 members and is consistently ranked in the top 1 percent nationally for returning profit to its members with better rates on loans and deposits.
Having been part of the industry for 37 years, Urquhart is conscientious and detail oriented, keeping her clients informed through every step of the process. She explains, “I have the necessary experience to ask the right questions up front and take care to explain the entire process of the loan application so there are no surprises down the road.” With nationwide lending, she can help many and offers conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo, home-equity and refinance loans.
With mostly client referrals, Urquhart strives to offer the utmost in customer service and still boasts walk-in business at their store-front office at the corner of Talcott and Canfield in Chicago.
Married for almost 35 years and a mother of three, Urquhart is a sports enthusiast who belongs to the Park Ridge Women’s Tennis Association and enjoys playing volleyball, tennis and pickleball.
