Homebuyers want to work with a loan officer who truly puts their clients first. With his philosophy to “listen, respond and inform,” Gary Komar does just that. He invests significant time and effort into each of his clients’ loan transactions and prides himself on the lasting relationships he’s made during his years in the industry.
As a vice president of residential lending at Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp.’s downtown Chicago branch, Komar has been an originator for over 29 years, consistently working with honesty and integrity. By placing his clients’ best interests first and putting himself in their shoes from the beginning, Komar has built a client base that comes mostly from referrals, and he even has his customers’ children coming to him for mortgages.
Because he has extensive knowledge on a wide variety of loan products, Komar can help virtually any kind of borrower. “I serve people with many different needs and from all walks of life,” he says. “I’m also licensed in eight states, so I can serve my clients beyond just Illinois.”
Despite last year’s unprecedented events, Komar still achieved much. He was named one of the top originators in the nation by industry trade publication Scotsman Guide and remains a consistent member of Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp.’s President’s Club for top-producing loan officers.
With the pandemic’s impact on everyday life this past year, Komar made sure to prioritize the things that really matter to him. “Dire situations like this one have allowed me to focus even more on my family, friends and staying safe,” he says.
Komar was born and raised in Chicagoland and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. He currently resides in Oak Park with his wife and three boys, and in his free time, he coaches youth sports, travels and is a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and Kansas Jayhawks.
