On the North Shore, from Evanston to Highland Park, @properties broker Courtney Cook is known as the “hometown kid,” now all grown up, a mother of three and serving the very neighborhoods where she grew up. Ten years into her career in residential real estate and serving first-time to empty-nester home buyers and sellers, Cook is uniquely able to help clients navigate the area because it’s the place she’s called home all of her life.
“I grew up in the Northshore, moved to the city for a number of years, and then came back here to raise my children, so I understand how much clients appreciate my experience and ability to help them navigate plans for their own families,” Cook says. Spending her 20s and 30s working in the luxury hotel market at places like The Peninsula and The Drake, Cook has been well trained to service the discerning homebuyer or seller.
Bringing that work ethic to residential real estate after starting her family, Cook’s clients say that her availability to personally get them from contract to close and beyond makes all the difference. Clients note how Cook’s ability to play multiple roles for them is beautifully paired with her skills for addressing issues that can cause anxieties to pop up during the transaction process.
“In the residential real estate world, you are selling a lifestyle,” she says. “I absolutely love my job, and I love finding clients the perfect home or getting them an amazing offer so that they can move into the next chapter of their lives.” A member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, Cook feels that her primary abilities of reading people, listening to their needs and always finding a creative solution instead of saying “no” continue to serve her well after 10 years in the business.
Tech savvy, communicative, compassionate and results-oriented, Cook is building a business to last a lifetime. “I treat every client like I’d treat my own family,” she says.
