Prior to beginning his career as a realtor, Andrew Northrup, now with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, bought a condominium without representation in 2000. He swiftly realized his mistake once under contract.
“I found out quickly I didn’t have any idea what I was doing without the support or guidance of a realtor,” he remembers.
While it worked out, he knew the situation could have ended very poorly for him. Regardless, the experience shaped him into the real estate professional he is now – knowledgeable, committed and eager to coach sellers and buyers in Chicago, the North Shore and the northwestern suburbs.
“Once a realtor, I vowed that I would make sure and educate all my clients to the best of my ability, in addition to servicing their needs,” Northrup shares.
With 16 years in the business, clients praise him for being committed to their needs, with sellers noting that his level of commitment is so high it’s as though Northrup is selling his own home. Approachable and highly professional, clients can’t go wrong when working with him.
Northrup’s previous career as a professional product and food photographer has lent him an expertise in such things as promotion and advertising, as well as making complex visions a tangible reality. He uses those skills in helping sellers to stage, photograph and advertise listings.
When it comes to buyers, his ability to listen, visualize and then execute their wishes has given Northrup an uncanny knack for finding their dream homes. These unique talents have bolstered his professional success and earned him the esteem of competitors, landing him such accolades as 2020 Five Star Real Estate Agent and being named among the Top 1% of the Chicago Association of Realtors in 2020, among several others.
While Northrup takes his business very seriously, he also wants clients to enjoy the experience, encouraging them to celebrate each milestone they hit along the way. He is always there celebrating with them.
“I’m a serious professional, an educator of real estate and a friend for life to my clients.”
