After 17 years of numerous achievements and accolades, Mike Nielsen just completed the top-producing year of his career, closing $143 million in funded loans and helping 355 clients realize their dream of homeownership. Mortgage Executive Magazine also ranked him 82nd among the top 200 mortgage originators across the entire United States last year. “That’s no small feat,” Nielsen says, “and I’m very proud to have reached this goal with the support of my family and Guaranteed Rate team.”
In 2006 — just his third year in the business — Nielsen received Guaranteed Rate’s prestigious President’s Club award by closing over $30 million in funded loans. He’s continued to win the award every year since. Advancing his successes even further in 2016, Nielsen received Guaranteed Rate’s Chairman’s Club award, achieved by funding over $100 million in volume, and he has continued to reach that benchmark for four consecutive years. “I’ve been in the business a long time, and I’ve worked on cultivating relationships with Realtors I know and trust, which helps me build a solid foundation for referrals,” Nielsen says. “I also have a great team, which includes some of our top processors. This helps me focus on the client, knowing that they are in great hands throughout the entire process.”
An ardent believer in hands-on customer service, Nielsen gives clients his personal cellphone number when they’re first referred to him. “I encourage them to ask questions whenever they’re unsure about anything and to speak their minds if they have a concern,” he says. “I want to make sure they know what to expect so they go into the process feeling prepared.”
An active supporter of the @gives back community fund and the Guaranteed Rate Foundation, Nielsen has a diverse range of interests outside his professional life, including drumming in a band and collecting classic cars. He also recently completed his first triathlon.
