A real estate veteran with more than 20 years of expertise, Matt Flaherty had a record-breaking year in 2019. He was one of Chase Bank’s top three lenders in the nation and was also designated a member of the company’s President’s Club for the fourth time. “Based on my 2020 volume and production, I’m grateful to be on pace for another record-breaking year,” Flaherty says.
Over the past 10 years, Flaherty has assisted more than 1,600 families and closed over $725 million in loans. He won Chase Bank’s National Achiever award nine times, and the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association recognized him with its Best Mortgage Loan Officer award in the large bank category in 2016. “I am extremely grateful for the support of my management team in earning these achievements,” Flaherty says. “My assistants, Nick Natale and Melissa Beale, have 30 years of combined industry experience, and they are both invaluable to the success of our team.”
Specializing in conforming and jumbo home lending programs for refinance and purchase, Flaherty works with customers ranging from first-time homebuyers to experienced clients looking to upgrade, purchase a second home, or refinance and take advantage of today’s historically low rates.
Flaherty’s business foundation was forged while earning his economics degree at the University of Virginia. “After graduation, I immediately began my career in financial services and found joy in building relationships and advising clients so they can make major financial decisions with confidence,” Flaherty says.
Although they are both career-driven, he and his wife, Mary — who is a highly trained microbiologist conducting vital research at a Chicago biomedical lab — look forward to a daily break to walk Yogi, their 3-year-old French bulldog, around the Ravenswood Corridor neighborhood, where they’ve lived for the past eight years.
