After working at a major airline, Gina Purdy knew she wasn’t on the right career path for her. She discussed it with her mother, who was a Realtor. “She convinced me to try real estate,” says Purdy. “After my first closing, I never looked back.”

Purdy, an agent with Baird & Warner, worked with her mother in the suburbs for many years before settling down in Edgebrook with her husband, a Chicago police sergeant, and raising a family. With an ability to easily connect with and see beauty in all people, Purdy built a successful business in Edgebrook, the surrounding neighborhoods and the northwest suburbs.

“I love my job,” says Purdy. “It doesn’t feel like work; it feels more like making a difference in people’s lives. And not just for buyers and sellers; one real estate transaction creates so many jobs for people: inspectors, appraisers, loan officers, loan processors, title companies, attorneys and office administration staff.”

Purdy recently hired an assistant, which she characterizes as the best decision she has ever made for her business. “It allows me to be truly present with my clients without worrying about the paperwork,” she says. “Adding someone to my team was a major change, but because I have the right person for the job, it’s so worth it!”

For the past five years, Purdy has achieved Founder’s Club status at Baird & Warner. She was also a top producer in terms of both volume and units with the Chicago Association of Realtors
in 2019.

Fond of learning, Purdy stays on top of the latest technology to maintain her status as a credible source of information. “I tell buyers and sellers that it becomes like a marriage between us,” she says. “We have to be able to trust each other, and communication is imperative.”

To unwind, Purdy plays golf, reads books, and makes happy memories with her husband and two teenage daughters at their new summer home.
