It’s immediately clear to anyone who works with the agents in the Gold Coast office of the Dawn McKenna Group at Coldwell Banker that they care deeply about clients. “When kids run into their new backyard or parents stand in their new kitchen dreaming of spending family time there, they can tell we are truly happy for them,” says team founder Dawn McKenna. “That can’t be faked.”

An award-winning real estate broker, McKenna leads a team of 20 agents in five offices that includes local Chicago experts Karen Iantorno, Caitlin Smith, Kiley Cox and Tory Rezin. Although they focus on luxury buyers and sellers in Chicago, the team also assists a wide mix of clients, including renters and first-time buyers. “I enjoy working with all types of customers,” says Iantorno, who grew up with McKenna and has been with her for over 10 years. “It keeps the job extremely rewarding.”

As a childhood friend of McKenna’s daughter, Smith grew up watching McKenna become one of the top agents in the country. When McKenna formed the Dawn McKenna Group, Smith joined straight out of college. “Our hustle and grind make us stand out from the competition,” she says.

Impressed with the job McKenna did selling her parents’ home, Cox left her marketing job and joined the team. Before focusing solely on sales, Cox helped build and launch the DMG brand. “We can now market properties and attract clients in unique ways,” she says of the effect her marketing background has had.

Prior to real estate, Rezin developed and analyzed data-driven campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. Applying those same skills as an agent, she designed a digital strategy that exponentially boosted traffic on the team’s award-winning website.

Together, the team works hard to help clients see their lives in a particular home and neighborhood. “Yes, we have processes,” Rezin says. “But it’s more about creating an experience that our clients will not forget.”
