For 29 years, Marj Carpenter has redefined and elevated the meaning of quality customer service, providing her clients with expert-level knowledge and a total commitment to achieving their desired outcomes. A broker with RE/MAX Unlimited Northwest specializing in northwest suburban markets such as McHenry, Lake and Kane counties, Carpenter welcomes all buyers and sellers. “I can’t say I have a typical client,” she says, although she particularly enjoys the opportunity to work with first-time buyers due to their excitement and enthusiasm throughout the process.
Carpenter is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Real Estate Negotiation Expert, Certified Residential Specialist, and recipient of the Graduate, Realtor Institute designation. “I take classes above and beyond what is required for continuing education so I can be a better agent and advocate for my clients,” she says. “Because of my career longevity, I have experience in situations that other agents are encountering for the first time as the market changes again. I’ve done it all before.”
Loyal to her proven marketing strategies, Carpenter was an early adopter of “Just Listed” and “Just Sold” cards. “For many years, I was the only one doing them, but now I see them in my mailbox from other agents,” she says. “However, I designed my own cards, so they don’t look like everybody else’s.”
Since 2000, Carpenter has been a member of the RE/MAX Platinum Club, and she began her streak being recognized by REAL Trends as one of America’s Best Real Estate Agents in 2015. She is also a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
Prior to entering the real estate industry, Carpenter was a co-owner and operator of a dairy farm, an administrative assistant, and a school bus driver.
As a mother and grandmother, Carpenter is adamant about making time for her family and hosts frequent dinners so everyone stays connected. Carpenter is also an avid triathlete and will be competing in the 2019 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France, among other events this year.
