Kinjal Shah, Broker

Dream Town Realty

One of the top agents among his hiring class at Dream Town Realty, Kinjal Shah races against the clock to secure the best deals for his clients as quickly as possible. Focused on downtown and North Side markets such as the West Loop, South Loop, West Town, Lincoln Park, Roscoe Village, North Center and Lakeview, Shah serves clients ranging from luxury buyers and sellers to property investors. As an investor himself, he has an innate understanding of what matters most to real estate entrepreneurs and works to over-deliver on every promise he makes.

Shah earned his real estate license two years ago after working as the president of franchise sales at Forever Yogurt, a global self-serve yogurt operation. He was credited with bringing the trend to Illinois by way of their first Wicker Park storefront. “With my leadership and salesmanship, we were able to franchise out dozens of locations around the world,” he says, adding that after selling the company four years ago, he was looking for a new position that would afford him flexibility and autonomy. “I knew I loved working with people, and I’ve always been a strong negotiator. With my previous job, I was always negotiating deals, so this was a natural transition.”

Never deterred by an unexpected obstacle, Shah is highly pragmatic and will opt for innovative or unconventional solutions rather than suffer defeat. “When there were no available homes on my clients’ desired block in Chicago, I reached out to the neighborhood via handwritten letters to help my clients acquire an off-market property,” he explains. “I had to think outside the box.” His plan is to continue to work hard so that in the near future he will be one of the most recognized agents in Chicago.

Shah is a supporter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He is also heavily involved in his children’s activities, including coaching his son’s baseball and football teams and assisting his daughter’s kindergarten class as a homeroom parent. “I strive to live a balanced life so that my family always has me around,” he says. Shah also loves traveling, playing golf, collecting wine and trying new restaurants in his West Loop neighborhood.
