When a client of Lauren Schuh-Dayton’s went on a monthlong international vacation while their house was under contract, they trusted Schuh-Dayton so much that they gave her free rein to go out and find a new home for them. “They purchased the $1.5 million home that I chose for them sight unseen,” says Schuh-Dayton. The situation was so notable that it was featured in The Wall Street Journal.
Clients trust Schuh-Dayton to handle everything when it comes to marketing homes as well, from a fresh coat of paint to new flooring. She utilizes a team of contractors, photographers and stagers to present homes in a way that maximizes clients’ return on investment. “There are times when you should showcase every room in the house and times you shouldn’t,” she says of marketing homes online. “It’s all about getting buyers in the door.”
The fact that her clients trust her so completely is reflected in Schuh-Dayton’s production numbers. She was a recipient of three awards from the Chicago Association of Realtors in 2018: Top Residential Producer – Residential Sales Volume ($15 million plus); Top Residential Producer – Residential Sales (26-52 units); and Top Rental Achiever – Rentals (60-231 units).
Concentrating on the luxury market in downtown Chicago, Gold Coast, South Loop and West Loop, Schuh-Dayton primarily works with sellers but has a team to tackle any type of real estate transaction. In fact, in the last year she was the exclusive agent at 1407 S. Michigan Ave., a luxury apartment building in the heart of the South Loop. To stay focused on the most valuable aspects of her business, Schuh-Dayton hired three more team members to ensure all her clients are getting world-class service.
Even when accompanying her husband on his own business travels, Schuh-Dayton is always working. She always tries to connect with other Sotheby’s agents around the world, in case any of her clients decide to relocate.
While she is dedicated to her clients, Schuh-Dayton is especially proud of the fact that she has been able to accomplish her professional goals while raising her two daughters, aged 13 months and 11 years old.
