Nancy Prelaske has been a consistent top performer since becoming a real estate agent over three decades ago. Prelaske’s expertise lies in all types of housing, condominiums, single family, townhouse, multi-unit and investment properties. “I believe having a wide variety of experiences in all housing types make me a valuable guide for both buyers and sellers alike,” she says, adding that her clients appreciate her market knowledge, experience, patience and thoughtfulness.
Prelaske describes herself as an entrepreneur who is inspired by the ever-changing real estate landscape and has a passion for helping others find their place in the world. “My approach varies with each client, everyone’s needs and wants are different and the key to a great relationship is understanding the goals of each one. I am rewarded with repeat business and referrals as a result.”
Prelaske was recruited to the real estate business while working as an account executive selling marketing and print solutions, and many of her clients were homebuilders. Since then, she’s worked on 22 development projects as sales director in Illinois, Florida and Indiana.
Prelaske has aligned her business with Compass, which empowers her with state-of-the-art technology and a culture of collaboration, all the tools needed to expand her knowledge base to best serve the needs of her clients.
As a former hospice volunteer, Prelaske is well versed in active listening skills. “This skill is invaluable for anyone working in a service industry,” she says, “It allows me to be attentive to what my clients are feeling, and gives me insight into their viewpoint on any matter relating to the home buying or selling process.”
Prelaske was co-founder of the Sales and Marketing Council for the Southwest Suburban Home Builder Association (SSHBA), and served as the Council’s vice president and chair to the Education Committee. She’s been recognized as a Top Producer by the Chicago Association of Realtors and has received the Executive Award for outstanding sales achievement from SSHBA.
When not engaged in real estate, Prelaske has a passion for creating unique boxes in her home pottery studio.
