Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage
Working as a loan processor for more than a decade, Mimi Luna learned a lot about financing and selling real estate. Fond of sales and meeting new people, she became a Realtor in 2013. Now, she leads her own team and succeeds at everything she sets out to accomplish.
“My ability to understand the financing end of it is a big help to my clients,” says Luna, a broker/team lead with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in La Grange. She works side-by-side in the business with Lilly Ramirez, a buyer specialist with a lengthy background in community banking. “One of the big pluses is growing my team with people who are experts in the area,” she says of Ramirez, who long served the west suburban community in her previous career. “People who are experts in the area provide a seamless transaction for our clients.” Ramirez has a drive and ambition that matches hers perfectly, a “win-win” for their clients, Luna says.
Luna’s team assists buyers, sellers and investors in Chicago and the western suburbs. “I love to work with first-time homebuyers, being an integral part of their homeownership dreams,” she says. “I also work with sellers. Seeing them move up in their needs is always a wonderful thing to witness.” She enjoys hands-on relationships with investors, setting market trends in many areas.
A breast cancer survivor, Luna is most proud of keeping business steady while under a doctor’s care during the first quarter of 2017. That year, she hired buyers’ agents to help grow the business and service her expanding client base. It was a chance worth taking. She earned the 2017 Chicago Presidents Award from the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), made the 2017 Coldwell Banker International Presidents Circle, and ranked second in her office for buyer’s sales.
Luna is an active member of NAHREP and the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors. She also supports the Coldwell Banker Foundation, Special Spaces, an organization dedicated to creating dream bedrooms for children with terminal illnesses and the Ronald McDonald House, where she and her team has cooked meals, feeding the families of children who are there undergoing medical treatment.
Although she is dedicated to her real estate career, Luna puts family first. She also enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time at the ocean as much as possible during the summer.
