Baird & Warner
Ben Lissner and Michael Hoover of the Hoover & Lissner Real Estate Team are taking Chicago residential real estate by storm. Quickly rising to the top, Hoover and Lissner are top producers in their office at Baird & Warner’s South Loop office, and were nominated for Chicago Agent magazine’s Rookie of the Year, specializing in the Loop and Near Loop neighborhoods. Only in their second year of residential sales, they credit their dynamic partnership with their success.
This partnership does not stop at work: The couple got married in early 2016 after being together for nearly seven years. Prior to entering residential sales, Lissner worked in commercial leasing and management for over a decade, and Hoover worked as a professional classical flutist.
Hoover and Lissner entered real estate to share their appreciation for Chicago and to have a positive and direct impact on the city. “We love that, wherever we go in the city, we now have stories and experiences with the buildings and the people that live in that community,” they say, adding that they strive to foster personal connections with all of their clients and to create productive working relationships that feel like friendships rather than business transactions. “We feel privileged to be a part of our clients’ lives during such a significant milestone,” they say. “Helping clients find or sell their home is a really special moment and we consider it a remarkable accomplishment.”
Hoover and Lissner also pride themselves on their ability and willingness to serve a diverse clientele with a wide range of needs. They have worked with all sorts of clients from first-time home buyers to experienced investors, from rentals to high-end listings. This flexibility and adaptability to their clients needs helps to build long-term loyalty and trust from their clients.
This driven power couple is almost always working. When not involved with their residential clients, they are both still actively involved in their prior careers. Lissner still works with his family’s commercial business. Hoover performs in a number of Chicago-area ensembles, and teaches music to children in Chicago’s underserved Austin neighborhood. Recently, he performed with the Oistrakh symphony at Carnegie Hall. While some couples may find the pressure of working together a strain on their relationship, Hoover and Lissner thrive off it, laughingly adding, “It always gives us something to talk about.”
When they do get a moment to themselves, Hoover and Lissner enjoy exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods with their dog Mabel, checking out restaurants and shopping. Lissner competes in triathlons and loves biking, running and being active in the city, often dragging his partner along.
