Chris and Paul DeLeeuw, brothers and co-owners of Halcyon Development and Design Group, harnessed their entrepreneurship and their decades of comprehensive international business experience to create an award-winning enterprise. Since 2001, they’ve develope luxury condominiums and single-family homes and brought distinguished and innovative designs to the neighborhoods of Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Ukranian Village, Logan Square, Andersonville, Roscoe Village and Lincoln Square.
Working with a wide spectrum of clients, from young professionals in the market for their first condo to mature buyers seeking to downsize or purchase a second home, Chris and Paul are adept at choosing designs, finishes and building layouts to fit their clients’ specific needs and enjoy this hands-on approach. “We treat and accommodate every buyer and homeowner during the purchasing and living period the same way we would like to be treated when buying and living in a home,” Chris says.
Chris and Paul are entrepreneurs at heart. The aspiration to explore has taken them from their home state of Michigan to Prague, Czech Republic, where they started an import/export and marketing company. “Dealing with the specifics of different markets throughout the countries in Central and Eastern Europe with their own cultural heritages and ways of conducting business has shaped our professional growth. We had to be creative and open-minded. We were able to expand the ‘out-of-the-box thinking’ that we now apply in every aspect in our professional and personal life,” Paul says. ”Real estate presented an opportunity to consolidate our experiences, our great partnership, and our passion for creating.”
Halcyon Development and Design Group received the ALA Award of Merit in 2011 and 2014, and is a member of the United States Green Building Council. Prioritizing eco-friendly solutions and building standards, the company employs the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system.
Chris and Paul are both devoted fathers (and fabulous cooks!). Paul lends his skill to local theaters, building stages and sets for children’s plays. Chris is an avid runner and loves to travel. In their spare time, they enjoy snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding and spending time on their boat with their families.
