Becoming real estate brokers and going into business with each other seemed like a natural transition for property owners and investors Andre T. Mitchell and DJ Peoples.
They both saw a need for a level of service and guidance in the communities they currently work in: metro Chicago and the South Loop and City South markets. “After years of hard work and success in corporate America, we felt we could develop our own business plan as entrepreneurs and be successful in real estate while also having a direct impact on buyers and sellers in this market,” say Mitchell and Peoples, real estate brokers with The Dream Team, a Baird & Warner brokerage. Collectively, they have 24 years of experience in the industry. Their name is a direct reference to their top priority, “Bringing clients’ dreams to fruition.”
Over 95 percent of their business is referrals, a testament to the work they do that gives them great satisfaction. Specializing in sellers, first-time homebuyers, investors, move-up buyers and relocations, The Dream Team is ranked in the top 1 percent companywide, No. 1 in the South Loop office, and are members of the Baird and Warner 2017 Founder’s Club. Collectively, they decided to move their business to the Baird & Warner South Loop Office. Despite transitioning to a new area, they were able to keep up their momentum and uphold their standards of business acumen when it came to their clients, resulting in recognition by the company.
Clients enjoy working with them and sometimes even view them as extended family. “We genuinely get to know our clients and understand the needs of everyone involved in the transaction,” they say. “Even after the transaction, our goal is to have clients feel like we helped them achieve their goals.” Ultimately, they strive to be a continued resource for clients long after closing day.
The one skill that has proven effective time and again is their ability to be influential in creating a seamless transaction for their clients. “In real estate, there can be stressful moments, whether it’s working with buyers or sellers, but we manage our clients’ needs and know how to work to mediate their stress levels.”
