What was your favorite networking event ever, and why?

My favorite networking event was the 2008 holiday/client appreciation event my partner, Donna Zupancic, and I put on. It was a mixture of friends, clients and real estate professionals all enjoying a little holiday cheer. Real estate transactions can be overwhelming and this event provided a format to discuss the market in a relaxed atmosphere. The two of us had three to four hours to mix and answer questions as well as introduce our “dream team” of professionals to our present and future clients. There were follow up mailings to all with a calendar and a flyer with all of our current listings. We received wonderful feedback about how much people enjoyed themselves, which was our goal from the start.

My favorite networking event was an evening open house I held for a new high-end home built in beautiful Glen Ellyn. This evening affair was for prospective buyers only and included fantastic gourmet catered food, fresh flowers and candles lit in every room. Personal invitations went out a month prior to the event. Word about the evening spread out through the community and I received calls from many people asking to be invited. Formally dressed tradesman, who participated in construction of this exceptional property, greeted the guests and showed off their masterpieces with pride. The house was sold shortly thereafter, and both the builder and I got two great clients who had been impressed with the presentation and the quality of the home.
