What was your first job in the realty industry?
I began as an agent in 1974.

Who inspires you?
My daughter inspires me because of her commitment to her faith. My mother-in-law inspires me because of her amazing careers as a Realtor, volunteer community leader and mother.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
I enjoy being with friends and playing sports.

How did you learn the business?
I learned from my in-laws, who were my first brokers. I also learned from reading, taking classes, attended seminars and conventions and by working hard every day.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The hardest part of being an agent is dealing with Realtors who are untrained, unprofessional, and/or looking out for their own best interests.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
The best networking is done in my community, my kids’ schools, volunteering and, mainly, open houses.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment has been raising my children.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
“The Other Boleyn Girl,” which is the story of Anne Boleyn’s sister

What is your favorite restaurant?
Jade Dragon in Hinsdale

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago?
The Rookery
