What was your first job in the realty industry? My first job was as a real estate agent, mostly assisting buyers.
Where did you grow up? I grew up primarily on the West side of Chicago.
What is your favorite free-time activity? My all-time favorite free–time activity is karaoke. I love singing, and also love acting and reading self-help books.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I am stressed, I relax by watching HGTV programs or a Lifetime movie.
If you weren’t a Realtor, what would you be? If I wasn’t a Realtor, I think I would love to pursue acting full-time.
What do you love most about the industry? I love finding the right property for my client, and the challenges today of getting to the closing and the closing itself, like dealing with short sales, foreclosures and structuring and negotiating the deal.
What is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out is my home, because I am so relaxed when I am home.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? My smile, my passion and knowledge of the industry, and my sincerity helps me to stand out.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Actually, I can’t say there is a difficult aspect of the job for me, because I truly love what I am doing.
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everywhere I go – the gym, restaurants, the car wash, church, walking down the street, community meetings, while on vacation, while doing volunteer work – is an opportunity for me to network and meet potential clients.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment has been getting a single young mother of two into a HUD property that was minimally priced and needed very little work. This one was not about commission, but the joy I felt in my heart. I don’t believe I could have felt any better if I had just received a million dollars in commission.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last great book I read was by Joel Osteen, “Become a Better You.”
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago? Architecturally, I would have to say, any building by Frank Lloyd Wright. I love his designs.

Smartphone or Paper? I am a little embarassed I am still using paper…but I am on my way to purchase an iPad.
What is your favorite city after Chicago? After Chicago, I would have to say my favorite place would be Hollywood, Calif.
What is your advice for someone new to the industry? My advice to someone new to this industry would be: be compassionate, true to yourself, learn your clients’ needs, know your market, be honest, don’t take yourself too seriously, work smart, not hard, be organized, have a great accountant, and have fun doing it all.
